Community Safety Unit

What is Hackney Borough CSU doing about homophobic crime?

Together with other agencies and community representatives we have put together a comprehensive action plan to reduce incidents of crime affecting Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) communities in Hackney.

The CSU are a team of officers specially trained and committed to providing a high level of service. We will listen sensitively and offer advice appropriate to your own personal needs. We acknowledge that the LGBT communities are an invisible minority and deserve an enhanced response to homophobic incidents. This unit is committed to providing that service.

We are open and accountable to the community we serve. To this end we invite members of the community and victims of homophobic crime into our offices to discuss our work and develop improvements in the way we approach homophobic crime.

Have you suffered the effects of homophobia? What can your CSU do for you?

If you are a victim of homophobic crime contact Hackney borough CSU on 0207-275-3696.

You don't have to give your name. You will be treated with dignity and care.

We work closely with other organisations, that can also give advice and support. Together, we have designed a self reporting form that is available from many organisations across the Borough (libraries, doctors surgeries, pubs, clubs and Police stations).

Our office is staffed until 6pm each night; if you do not get an answer outside these hours, leave your details.
