It's Your Choice

We can speak with you privately, give advice about your options or put you in touch with other organisations that can support you - completely confidentially.

We Will Listen to You

If you want to see the person who's committed the crime against you prosecuted, we will take you through the process and offer support. At every stage we will listen and act on your wishes. One officer will stay with your investigation throughout to keep you informed.

We Can Work Together

If the incident is not an actual offence we will still investigate it seriously and offer support. Any information is important and by working together we can stop hate crimes.

You Matter

We will deal with your case promptly, sensitively and effectively. We will treat every call as a priority. An officer will visit you or you can attend the police station or send someone else. We can talk to you on the phone or report the matter through another organisation like your local housing association. We will explain what options are available to you.

  • We'll keep a record of what's happened
  • We'll choose one officer to be in charge of your case from beginning to end
  • We can put you in touch with other organisations
  • We'll arrest the suspect if we can (positive arrest policy)
We'll support you, if you have to go to court
