REPORTING A HATE CRIME

If you have been a victim of a homophobic or transphobic crime, it is important that you report it. There are several ways you can report the crime. In an emergency, call 999

GALOP: London's LGBT anti-violence and police-monitoring charity, with a helpline offering advice on how to deal with the police. Galop will assist you in your report while maintaining confidentiality. GALOP Shoutline: 020 7704 2040.

Call your local Community Safety Unit which has special responsibilities in hate crime. You can ask to speak to an LGBT liaison officer.

The Camden LGBT Forum can also assist you in making a crime report.

Alcohol Concern
has lots of information and advice on drinking and alcohol related problems on its website.

National Association for Children of Alcoholics (NACOA) has a free helpline for children of alcoholics which provides listening, advice and links with other services. It also offers help to children who are concerned about their parent’s use of drugs and provides advice and information to professionals.

Alcohol East - Is based, in Stratford in east London, offers daily counselling services to lesbians and gay men and their partners who are trying to cope with alcohol-related problems. Lifeline

Lifeline is one of the oldest non-statutory, non-residential drugs agencies in the UK.  In 1971 the Lifeline Project opened its day centre for drug users in Manchester.  Since its foundation Lifeline has grown and developed, responding to the ever increasing problems associated with drug use faced by individuals, families and communities.
